Stef Caragliano
they/he
In my independent grant writing and consulting, I advise clients on funding opportunities; write and submit grant proposals, reports, and budgets; conduct prospect research; and draft outreach to current and prospective funders. As a former theater-maker, I thrive on collaboration, and that applies to my grants process–from developing language with program managers and artists, to creating budgets with executive staff.
I've supported mission-driven non-profits in building grants portfolios, creating and managing grants calendars, developing compelling program language, updating tracking systems and best practices for managing databases, and writing annual reports. I've successfully fundraised for public art, performing and multidisciplinary arts, visual art, film, arts education, sustainability and horticulture programs, community programs, LGBTQIA+ youth programs, capital projects, humanities, archives, and accessibility programs. I've worked with artists and institutions across New York City, New York State, Connecticut, and California, securing grants from private foundations, government sources including New York State Council on the Arts, New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs, and CT Humanities, as well as foreign cultural organizations. I have written and managed many National Endowment for the Arts grants including Grants for Arts Projects (Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works, Theater, and Visual Arts), and the NEA Big Read and NEA Our Town programs.
